Pros-This tv easily to install
-You can was watching the set with Sky and all Freeview stations working. Nothing was easier! Half an hour from straight from the box.
-The picture is truely excellent.
-Sound is ideal for a small living room 'stronger' sound.
-Worth the money
Well done Toshiba; Reputable name; Good product ; competitive price.
Especially when you compare prices.
Have yet to see a similar set in uk dealers with anywhere as good a picture. All other similar sets appear much more expensive and set picture quality is dubious.

I needed a good quality, small tv for the guest room that we've just finished refurnishing. I was wary of spoling the overall effect by having a cheap and nasty tv that I've often encountered in b&b's and some hotel rooms, so had to make a good choice. My one worry about the 19BV501B was that no matter how hard I searched it was impossible to find a user review, so I took a leap of faith and did it the old fashioned way by respecting the manufacturer's reputation and staying within a set budget. On opening the package, my first impressions of the tv were reasuringly positive, even before I
plugged it in and set it up. I found it well built, sturdy on its stand and the shiny black finish was very attractive. Automatic setup was simplicity itself, taking less than 5 minutes to search through the digital channels on freeview and present them on the channel directory. Picture quality is excellent, as is the sound quality and both can be fine tuned according to user preference. It's somewhat over-specced for a tv in a guest room which may not be used very often, but I know I have purchased exactly what I wanted, a small tv with excellent sound and picture quality that I would highly recommend.

Needed a new TV for the bedroom for occasional use so didn't want to spend over the odds. Given the price and manufacturer this seemed an ideal choice.
Arrived in normally prompt Amazon time and was very easy to get up and running. I did need some advice from a friend to enable me to link it into my Sky signal (as I had with the previous TV) but that proved to be a simple process.
So far so good!

I have long thought that I was completely inept with electric technology, even something as basic as a television. In the past, I would always have a male partner help me with electrical purchases. Well when this very well priced beauty arrived I was determined to set it up and tune it myself. I very carefully extracted it from the box and read the instructions. The booklet that comes with is 30 odd pages long (printed on recycled paper - well done Toshiba). In the past, just seeing lengthy instructions, I would have handed it over to a MAN. No man available that day so get on with it I did. I read just the instructions I needed to set up, install and tune. There is much more good information in the booklet but I will be reading that soon, as it did not apply at that moment. I did everything carefully and found that it was not difficult at all. So, I guess I would advise all, if I can set it up, chances are, you can too.
I love how it looks. I tuned it in using an old cheap aerial as I have in a bedroom. What I noticed is that what originally was not perfect reception (only on a few channels) on the first few days became much clearer over time. I then ordered a new aerial, one that would plug into the mains and re-tuned. The reception again, got better over a few days - so do not give up without allowing some time. The television sound and picture are great! I feel it is a super price and if you want to splash out, go for this one, it deserves all the positive reviews. I will definitely be buying Toshiba and via Amazon in the future. Great product and service.
