Sony KDL32CX523BU Reviews
I am delighted with the product. It worked without fuss and picture is excellent with very good colour - reasonably natural, not harsh or over bright. Sound quality is very good. I have yet to find out all that it can do but, simply for basic televiewing plus Freeview, it is very satisfactory

I was looking for a new TV for quite a while, and after reading endless reviews I decided on the Sony KDL32CX523BU. It had everything I was looking for in a Smart TV, and more. The picture quality is exceptional, and it has loads of extra's too, such as Skype, BBCiplayer, and Youtube
, to name but a few. (although to access these you do need to purchase certain connectivity adapters, but I knew this before I bought the TV.) So all I have to say is, if you are after a good 32" TV, this is the one for you!
The service through Amazon was quick, and easy (as ever) I ordered the TV on the Tuesday, and it was hanging on my wall by the following Friday, So all in all, I am delighted with the whole experience, and will definitely be shopping again in the near future.

Our family already owned Sony CRT Trinitrons since the millennium and also a 2010 LCD Bravia (EX series), I thought not much could be improved on with this model which I brought for myself. I was worried as there's mixed reviews online and a lot of people say the sound isn't that great. However, I'm pleased to say that this TV is FANTASTIC and up to the Sony reputation.
LOOKS:
Well built, solid, stylish, fairly slim and with a touch of class to the design (the metal effect strip at the bottom), it doesn't look tacky the way those supermarket brand TVs do. The remote is the typical Sony 'stick' design (no awards for style but very responsive and well laid out).
PICTURE:
Out of the box, brilliant, but maybe a not bright enough. To fix this, I found that going in to the 'Eco' menu and turning off the light sensor and then turning on 'power saving' to Low made a pleasing picture and kept good contrast/blacks. Then it comes alive and is so good I honestly didn't see the need to change a single picture setting in the 'Auto' picture mode. Freeview SD and HD both look great, Blu-ray stunning and even VHS is very watchable with no unwanted digital processing added by the TV.
SOUND:
At first I couldn't get use to it, it was 'tinny' and lacked bass compared to other Sony's. Then I played with the settings and got it sounding much better. These settings worked for me... setting the sound as if the TV position is wall mounted (even if it's not) improves the sound DRASTICALLY for some reason and takes away the echoie, lightweight sound. Then use 'Dynamic' audio mode, avoid all the 'surround' modes. Now I'm really pleased with its sound. But ideally for movies a separate sound system or sound bar would be something to think of.
FEATURES:
Obviously it's big selling point is the Smart TV stuff. It doesn't disappoint here with loads of useful apps (iPlayer, Demand 5, YouTube and LoveFilm being the main ones of interest, though there's a lot else to play with including Facebook, Twitter etc). I really like the way Sony have integrated the apps into the menu so stylishly.
A big draw for me is the exclusive TrackID feature that means you can press a button on the remote when you hear a song you like on TV and it'll track down who sings it online. REALLY handy if an advert/show has a song and you just have to know what it is!
You also get a full web browser which while not as easy to use as a computer one, could come in handy.
CONNECTIONS:
Loads of HDMI's (plus one on the side), USB's (including one you can connect an external HDD to so you can use the TV as a PVR (I've already got Sony's separate SVR-HDT1000 1TB Freeview+ HD PVR but this could be handy for the casual user), there's only one SCART (but what uses that now anyway?), PC/Mac input and component (ideal for the Wii?). So it pretty much covers everything. You can even connect a Sony webcam to make Skype phone/video calls (something I've yet to try but might be good for speaking to the family over the holidays).
THE GEEKY STUFF:
S-LCD (Samsung) SPVA enhanced panel with much better viewing angle than most of its type (and previous Sony's) and excellent uniformity (unlike LED), fast response time and stunning blacks for an LCD. I haven't noticed any of the unwanted LCD side effects and can say the picture really keeps amazing me.
SUMMARY:
I cannot fault this tv. It's got Sony quality all over it and I've never had a tv with this many features or such amazing picture quality 'out of the box'. At the current Amazon price, a steal.
